“EXTRA!  EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT!”: THE AMARILLO GLOBE-NEWS

Back Forward

March 21, 2009—September 7, 2009

In honor of the 100th anniversary of the Amarillo Globe-News, an exhibit in the Mary E. Bivins Gallery from March 7 until September 27, 2009, will follow the history of the newspaper to the present.  Today’s Amarillo Globe-News is the lone survivor of more than 30 newspapers published in the city since its founding in 1887.  The exhibit will focus on the evolution of the newspaper, some important individuals involved in the newspaper’s long history, and major events chronicled in the paper.
